Safety

Hopewell's Commitment to Safety

Over the past year, Hopewell has recognized a need to communicate more clearly about our evolving plans and policies regarding safety. To that end, we have built out a new Safety page that contains updated information about all the ways we’re working to keep our students, staff, and community safe (both online and in person). From COVID-19 protocols to thorough hiring practices, this page will be your best source for up-to-date information from Hopewell moving forward

In-Person Lesson Safety

Hopewell is offering on-site lessons for fully-vaccinated students, per teacher availability.

On-Site Lessons Procedure:

  • Students may be accompanied by one adult or family member. The family member accompanying a student must be over the age of 18.
  • Students and their accompanying adult or family member must wear a mask while on-site. KN95s or equivalent masks are required, cloth or surgical masks at this time are not permitted.
  • Students, staff, family members, or anyone coming to Hopewell's physical location who showing any symptoms of illness are not permitted on-site.  Hopewell reserves the right to refuse service to anyone exhibiting signs of illness.

Vaccination Policy:

  • Staff , Students, Parents/Guardians, Board Members, Volunteers, or anyone coming to Hopewell's physical location for any reason must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Fully vaccinated means that an individual has received all recommended doses of a COVID- 19 vaccine including recommended boosters and that it has been at least two weeks since the final recommended dose.

Virtual Lesson Safety

Hopewell Music will send families signed up for our programs a link to our Hopewell Zoom Lesson Room via Jackrabbit upon enrollment.  The Hopewell Zoom lesson room is run by Hopewell staff who greet families upon log-in and send students into virtual breakout rooms with their lessons teacher.  Details about our Virtual Lessons Policies can be found here:

Safe Hiring Practices

Hopewell remains committed to ensuring a safe and comfortable place for our students, staff and community.  In the past year we have taken the following steps:

  • Background Checks: Background screening, reference and employment checks are now completed by Yardstik, a local company offering more thorough screening.
  • Interview and reference tracking: We have created hiring criteria and an interview structure to more objectively rank candidates and ensure a good fit for new teachers and staff.
  • On-boarding: We are streamlining and tailoring our on-boarding process to ensure all staff are well informed of Hopewell policies and culture
