What does it mean to serve on a board?
As a board member, you share your wisdom, time, passion, and love for empowering Northsiders of all backgrounds to express themselves creatively through music. Prior board experience is not required.
This is a working board, where all board members are engaged in Hopewell’s work to bring music education to everyone in North Minneapolis, regardless of race, income, ability, or musical background. Board members are fiscally, legally, and morally responsible for the organization.
If you’d like to observe a board meeting before applying, send an email to: board@hopewellmusic.com.
This is an unpaid, volunteer position.
Time Commitment
An initial term is two years in length during which you participate in board and committee meetings, take an active role in various initiatives, and help us with our fun community events and concerts. Estimated commitment is 4-8 hours per month.
The current committees are Executive, Governance, Finance, Diversity & Inclusion, and Community Engagement. Board members are expected to serve on 1-2 committees during their term.
Board meetings are held in a hybrid format and occur bi-monthly on the third Tuesday from 6:30-8:00pm. Committee meetings are determined by committee team member availability.
